Dig Dug Online Free

Dig Dug was originally a popular arcade game developed in 1982 by Namco in Japan. It was then released by Atari to the rest of the World.

Objective

The objective of the Dig Dug game is to kill the monsters that are located underground. There are 2 ways to kill the Dig Dug monsters…

1. Inflate them until they pop or
2. Drop a rock on them.

These killing methods work on both types of enemies: Pookas and Fygars.

Pookas are the red and yellow monsters and Fygars are the little green fire breathing dragons.

You play this Dig Dug flash game as the blue and white digging character, Dig Dug. You are able to dig tunnels in order to kill the monsters and collect points. You get killed if you are caught by any monster or it’s fire, or if you get crushed by a rock.

It’s easier to die than you might think since the monsters can turn into eyes and float through the dirt to get to you. Also, if you fail to fully inflate a monster it can recover and come back for you.

How Points Are Awarded

1. Digging earns points – 10 points per block dug.
2. Points are awarded for killing Pookas and Fygars.
How many points depends on how you kill the monsters and also where you kill them. The dirt is colour coded and the further down the dirt you go the more points are awarded per kill.
A fire breathing dragon kill is also worth more if you inflate him horizontially facing you and he can only breathe fire horizontally facing you.
Dropping a rock on your foe earns you more points than inflating them.
If one monster is killed by a rock – 1000 points.
If the next monster is killed by a rock – 1500 points.
If the next monster is killed by a rock – 1500 points.
All other rick killing after this point – 2000 points.

Warning

The last monster on every level will try to escape out of the top left hand corner of the screen. You will want to try and stop him so you can earn maximum points.

Controls to Play Dig Dug

The controls are simple. Use the arrow keys to move or dig in any of the 4 directions.
Press the letter X to inflate the monsters.
